SUMMER PRograms 2020

Summer fun for students!

In this season of remote learning, theatre artists everywhere are finding amazingly creative ways to continue reaching audiences with “live” storytelling. For the last several years, Seed has performed on “remote stages” all over town.  So this summer we want to invite students to explore this new exciting format of virtual immersive theatre. From drop-in theatre games to fully-mounted, live streamed stories,  we hope that your family will join us from home!  *Individual class links and passwords will be sent upon registration confirmation.

IMPROV JAMS

Summer Improv jam sessions are back! Join us on for monthly afternoons of theatre games.  Wednesdays, June 17, July 15, and August 19 -  3:30 to 5 pm.   $10/participant, ages 13-18

TEEN PRODUCTION CAMP

Seeking creative teens interested in film making, acting, sound, and computer technology for this year’s virtual production camp.  Using a contemporary adaptation of Cyrano DeBergerac, campers will configure environments, characters, costumes, and special effects to produce a 45-minute live-streamed performance.   Acting and tech roles will be determined after registration - there is a place for all interests! Mondays-Thursdays June 22-July 9 10am-12pm.  Live Streamed performances will air July 9-11.

WOMEN'S THEATRE FESTIVAL

We are excited to be back with our partners at the Women’s Theatre Festival for another summer of kids’ programs.  Kids 5-12 have opportunities to participate in workshops and performances throughout the month of July!

Programs include:

  • Celebrate STEM superstars Mae Jemison, Kathrine Johnson, and Henrietta Swann Leavitt as we create our own Zoom play about their lives and amazing work.  Activities include creative movement, visual art, and a short sharing session for parents joining us at the end.
  • Tune into “Cyrano” and join us afterwards for a WTFamily VIP behind-the-scenes chat with the teen cast.
  • Join our bunnies and buddies in Mr. MacGregor’s virtual garden for a reading of Dylan Bailey’s script, “The Many Adventures of Peter Rabbit”.
